HOW UNUSUAL IS THE MARS' SKY ?
THE SKY IS RED ON MARS
while the scattering of light in the atmosphere creates a blue halo around the sun which makes the sunset blue.
Yeah! THE SUNSETS ARE BLUE OUT THERE.
Astronomer Mark Lemmon explains that
- The thick Martian dust blocks the light of all colors almost equally.
- Since the dust is colored by iron oxides (rust), it absorbs the blue light and scatters the red light.
- Henceforth gives the sky a rusty color
while the scattering of light in the atmosphere creates a blue halo around the sun which makes the sunset blue.
Yeah! THE SUNSETS ARE BLUE OUT THERE.
